A slurry flow meter measures exactly how much slurry you are applying, so you can hit your target application rate, make the most of the nutrients in your slurry and keep a record of where it went. Vantage Ireland supplies and fits slurry flow meters for tankers and umbilical systems across Ireland and the UK.
How a slurry flow meter works
You set the measurement units, application width and target rate. The system then calculates the target forward speed you need to drive at and, where available, shows your actual speed from the tractor, so you can match the two and apply the correct rate.

Vantage Flow Meter – Hardwired Display
A simple standalone system with an in-cab display hardwired to the controller. Set your target rate and spread width, then follow the target speed on screen. Fits slurry tankers and umbilical systems, for 4 inch and 5 inch pipe. View the hardwired slurry flow meter.
ISOBUS Slurry Flow Meter
Connects to any ISOBUS screen and loads the flow meter program. Paired with an actuator valve, it adjusts the flow at the outlet to match your target rate. Run through a Trimble GFX display, including as a split screen in the Trimble Precision-IQ (PIQ) app, with Task Control it records application rate and placement for full traceability. Müller ISOBUS Slurry Flow Control
For full automatic rate control, our ISOBUS slurry flow meter system uses Müller components to control slurry application rates and provide complete traceability and proof of placement. Everything runs through one ISOBUS controller:
- Flow control: adjusts the slurry flow to match your target rate, giving you complete control of your application.
- NIR sensor: optional NIR sensing capability. See our NIR sensors and analysers.
- Hydraulic functions: control the tanker’s hydraulics from the same controller and display.
These systems can be retrofitted to existing slurry tanker dribble bars, trailing shoes and slurry injection systems. Full ISOBUS retrofit kits are available for older tractors that don’t have ISOBUS, and tractor guidance and steering can also be added.
Frequently asked questions
Should I choose a hardwired or ISOBUS flow meter?
If you want a simple system with its own in-cab display, choose the hardwired flow meter. If your tractor has an ISOBUS terminal, or you want automatic rate control and proof-of-placement records, choose the ISOBUS slurry flow meter.
Can a flow meter be fitted to my existing tanker?
Yes. Our flow meters can be retrofitted to existing tankers and umbilical systems, including dribble bars, trailing shoes and injection systems.
Do I need an ISOBUS tractor?
No. The hardwired flow meter has its own display, and ISOBUS retrofit kits are available for older tractors.
